William K. (Ken) Harmaning, Ed.D. (Educational Administration)
Executive Director

Dr. Harmaning has a B.A. in Religion with graduate degrees in Christian Education, and Educational Technology and completed a doctorate in Educational Administration in 2002. His work experience includes 19 years in higher education technology administration, two staff positions in churches, technical support representation for Proxima data projectors and for websites at Outreach, Inc. He began the position of administrative pastor at Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene in 2006. His outside interests include his best friend and wife, motorcycling, reading, photography, and his family that includes two grandsons and two granddaughters.


Jennifer J. Bentley, J.D. (Law)
Chair

Ms. Bentley attended Point Loma Nazarene University, but received her undergraduate degree from Glendale University with a Bachelor of Science. She obtained her law degree while working full time, raising 3 children and doing duties as a pastor’s wife. She went on to become a managing partner for a defense firm. She also is a Certified Specialist with the California State Bar Association. She recently retired and is actively investing in real estate. She is currently the pastor’s wife of Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene where she participates in the worship team, playing keyboard and doing vocals. Her outside interests center around her family, including 2 grandsons, music and maintaining vital health.


Vivian Eisenecher
Vice-Chair

Author of Recovering Me, Discovering Joy, Vivian Eisenecher has been a sought after speaker, mentor and writer since 1996. Her other published works include articles for The Chicken Soup for the Soul and Woman’s World. Her inspirational story has been enthusiastically received by companies and corporations, national organizations, national associations, and rehab centers. A graduate of National University in Marketing, he is passionate about helping people enhance every dimension of their lives. She has resided in the Poway/Rancho Bernardo area since 1981.


Marilyn J. Harmaning, M. Ed. (Curriculum Design & Technology in Education)
Secretary

Ms. Harmaning is a lifelong learner whose passion is working with adolescents, particularly in Christian school settings. She is currently the English Department Chairperson at Cathedral Catholic High School, but has taught in both public and private schools in various parts of the country including Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Delaware, Ohio. She has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Design and Technology in Education. She is a wife (happily married for nearly 40 years to her best friend), mother, and grandmother, reader, gardener, seamstress, motorcycle rider, cancer survivor, and active member TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). Another passion is missions; She is Missions President at Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene.


Mike Miller, B.A. (Mechanical Engineering)
Treasurer

Mr. Miller has a B.A. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCSD obtained in 1973. He has worked at General Atomics for the past 35 years, first as a Nuclear Engineer for 10 years, and as a Quality Engineer for the past 25 years. He has been on church boards for most of the past 30 years as Church Treasurer and other committees, taught Sunday School for most of the past 37 years, drove buses to pick kids up for church, and is currently serving on the Mount. Carmel Church of the Nazarene church board. His main hobby is bicycling and running. He is married with one 19 year-old stepdaughter still living at home. He has one son, one daughter, and eight grandchildren.


Patricia Arnett, A.A. (Child Development)
Director

Ms. Arnett has worked at the University of California, San Diego since 1993 and is currently a Senior Administrative Analyst in finance and human resources. She has also been employed as a preschool teacher, YMCA dance instructor, bank service manager, and real estate appraiser. She earned an A.A. degree in Child Development from Mesa College and has taken extensive coursework in business and finance. She is a member of the Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene and has served on the church board. Her hobbies are travel, photography, and moviemaking.


Don Randall
Director

Mr. Randall is in the Land Development Engineering Industry with 32 years of experience at multiple levels of involvement. For the past 21 years, he has been working in land development in San Diego County. His current engagement is with a Land Surveying and Civil Engineering company that focuses on the entitlement process for condominium conversions throughout the State of California. He has served as a church board member, committee member and worship team member over the past 17 years with Mira Mesa Community Church of the Nazarene, now known as Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene. He is married with 2 young men for sons, one of which is serving in the United States Air Force, and a wife of 24 years. For recreation, He has played/managed men’s and coed softball teams over the past 15 years.


Brian Whalen, B.S. (Network Managment Systems)
Director

Originally from the East Coast, Mr. Whalen has lived in California since 1987.
He studied Electrical Engineering at San Jose State in the early 90s,
then began working in the Bay Area at the height of the dot com boom in
technology. He has lived in San Diego since 1999 with his wife, and has
continued to work in various IT positions. He plays bass on the Mount
Carmel Nazarene Church worship team, and leads a weekly small group there
as well.


Tommy E. Williams, B.A. (Business)
Director

Mr. Williams is a graduate of Pasadena Nazarene College (now Point Loma Nazarene University) with B.A. in Business. Former business relationships include Vice President of Arkansas Valley Savings and Loan Assoc. in Russellville Arkansas and ownership of several businesses including a restaurant, a mobile home sales office, a recreational boat dock and a farm implement sales franchise. He is currently co-owner of Century 21 Advantage Real Estate in San Diego and has developed 3 subdivisions and built many homes. He is Chairman of the Board of the Properties Board of the Southern California District Church of the Nazarene and a member of San Diego First Church of the Nazarene.


Barbara Wills, B.A. (Elementary Education)
Director

Ms. Wills is a graduate of Wilkes University (Wilkes-Barre, PA) with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She also has additional units in Early Childhood Education. Her employment history includes tutoring homebound students and providing before and after school care for elementary age students. For the past 15 years she has been a Pre-K teacher at a Christian preschool. She has served on various church boards and committees and is currently treasurer of Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene. She has been married for 33 years and has 3 children.
 


Jessica Wills, M. Ed. (Teaching & Learning)
Director

Ms. Jessica Wills is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. She is currently teaching Math at La Jolla High School and is pursuing her Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from Brandman University. She is a member of Mount Carmel Church of the Nazarene and volunteers her time with the church youth group. She is happily married and enjoys playing sports and traveling in her free time.


Paula Lloyd, M.S.N. (Nursing), C.N.S.
CHOC Clinic Director

Mrs. Lloyd received her B.S.N. from Point Loma Nazarene University and completed her M.S.N. (focus on nursing education and family/community health) in 2009 also from PLNU. For the last 20 years, she has worked in community health in industry as an Occupational Health Nurse. She volunteers her professional services at the PLNU Health Promotion Center in City Heights which serves the underserved, and at the Los Angeles Christian Health Center located in the skid row area of LA, which provides care to the homeless. Over the years, Paula has been involved with serving international students in various capacities, has been involved in various lay leadership positions at her home church of College Avenue Baptist Church, and is the San Diego area supervisor for the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement program. Paula has been married to her husband Sam for 31 years, has two grown children, and two grandbabies.
